ReWild Child Forest Adventure Club
Forest Adventure club is a drop off option, providing children with independent opportunities to experience adventure forest based play and learning in a safe environment. Safe risk taking, exploration and adventure and encouraged and children will have the freedom to play independently using their own imaginations, making their own adventures and/or take part in a range of group games and activities using the resouces in the natural environment.
Examples of sessions include:
Wizards, Witches, Potions and Wands. Using natural resources and hand tools to make magic wands, brooms, colourful potions, writing quills and natural ink. Tools include Sheaf Knife, Bow Saw, Pruning Saw, Bill Hook, mallet.
Primitive weapons: Be a knight, soldier, virago, warrior or hunter. Using natural resources and hand tools to create primitive tools and weapons such as sword, mallet, catapult, knife, Axe. Tools include Sheaf Knife, Bow Saw, Pruning Saw, Bill Hook, mallet, rope.
Bows and arrows: Whittle, carve, shape and design your own Bow and arrow and test it later in the shooting range. Tools include Sheaf Knife, Bow Saw, Pruning Saw, Bill Hook, mallet, rope.
Vegetable Patch: Learn how to seed, grow and crop your own vegetables. Lets look at what vegetables start off from and learn how they grow differently and at different speeds. Lets dig, seed, sow, farm and gather. Together we can chop and prepare to eat together. Tools include, shovel, trowel, secateurs, knife.
Shelter Building: Learn how to build a shelter in the wild. From lean to tarp shelters to shelters made from natural resources. Working together as a team, learning rope lashing and knots to build dens and shelters for bush survival.
Fire Striking: Learn how to gather wood and kindling, how to strike a spark with a steel and flint, how to safely maintain, manage and extinguish an open forest fire. Cook snacks and share tales around the forest camp fire.
